Strategic Plan Welcome

The Wayne State University School of Medicine embarked a school-wide strategic planning initiative to address changes in today’s market and environment that challenge us to rethink our approach to education, research and clinical care.

The strategic planning process has been a tremendous effort, reflecting the work of nearly 100 faculty, chairs/directors, deans, students and community partners serving on several workgroups to examine our strengths and challenges in education, research, clinical care and public policy/partnerships.

The 2007 – 2011 Strategic Plan will position the School to strengthen its education mission, increase our research portfolio to include translational and clinical research, and to expand its clinical enterprise to reach out to the community and support the other missions of the School. The School is positioned to allocate adequate resources to support its strategic vision, plan rather than react to challenges, and most importantly, provide an environment to seize opportunities.
